Students Celebrating Summer Holidays

The last day of classes was June 18th and students are now enjoying their summer holidays.  Most of the report cards have been picked up but a few still remain.  Office staff will be in until the end of June and then we too will welcome summer holidays.  The phone messages will still be checked so if you have inquiries feel free to call the school at 604-826-1388. 

The first day of school for students will be September 7th.

Sports Day Postponed

Due to the weathermen expecting buckets of rain to fall on May 28th, the primary sports day has been postponed.  We are rescheduling it for Monday, June 14th.

Once again May is proving to be a busy month full of fun-filled activities.  We started the month with the CESS Track Meet.  Our annual Fun Fair was held on the 15th of the month and we will end May with our Sports Day.  Check out May’s newsletters for pictures of all the fun.

The Message of the Cross

On the evening of March 31st Clarke Theatre stage became Old Jerusalem and the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection was clearly told for all to hear. The Kindergarten through Grade 9 classes, through songs and actions, shared with us their talents and put on an amazing drama. We have heard many times throughout this week, “That was the best Easter program yet!”  To God be the Glory! He is Risen Indeed.

Olympic Torch Run Feb. 8

Please join us in encouraging our Olympic athletes and being a part of Mission history when the Olympic Torch bearers run through our city.  We would like to have as many “cheerers” as possible gather on 1st Avenue in front of Lighthouse Realty bright and early.  5:30 am  Go Canada Go!

Great News – Tuition Unchanged

The VCS Board has voted to have the 2010/2011 tuition rates remain the same as the previous year.  For the tuition rate schedule click on the registration tab on this web site.

Preschool Grandparents’ Day Jan. 28th

Please come and visit your grandchildren in the preschool room.  They will want to show you their accomplishments and have you join them in making a craft.  Refreshments will be served.

The morning class would like to see you there from 10:30 until 11:00

The afternoon class would like to see you there from 2:00 until 2:30

September 2010 Registration

We are currently registering our Valley Christian School students, Preschool through Grade 9,  for the 2010-2011 school year.  Priority placement will be given to VCS families until February 5th. 

Registrations from the community are being accepted now and will be assigned placement after February 5th as seats are available. Registration information and forms are available under the registration tab on this site.

Prospective families may call anytime and arrange  to visit the classrooms.  Everyday is an Open House Day at Valley Christian School.

Grandparents’ Day, January 22nd (K to 9)

Grandparents of the K to 9 students are invited to attend school Friday afternoon, January 22, 2010.  Your grandchildren will present a program in the church sanctuary at 1:00pm.  You will then be invited back to their classrooms where they will proudly show off what they have been learning.  Beware though, there may be a lesson on reading, writing or arithmetic.  Hope to see you there.
